However, after much reflection and consideration, I have come to the difficult decision that it is time for me to pursue a new chapter in my career. I want to make it clear that this decision was not made lightly, and it certainly does not diminish the respect and admiration I have for the Celtics organization, my teammates, the coaching staff, and the entire Celtics family.
With that being said, I believe that joining the Los Angeles Lakers presents an exciting opportunity for me to continue to grow as a player and to compete for championships at the highest level. Playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be a dream come true, and I am eager to contribute to the rich legacy of success that the Lakers have established over the years.
I want to thank the Celtics fans for their unwavering support throughout my time in Boston. Your passion and dedication have meant the world to me, and I will always cherish the memories we created together. I also want to express my gratitude to Danny Ainge, Brad Stevens, and the entire Celtics organization for believing in me and helping me become the player I am today.
Please know that this decision was not made out of a lack of love for Boston, but rather out of a desire to pursue new challenges and opportunities. I will always hold a special place in my heart for the city of Boston and for the Celtics organization, and I will forever be grateful for the memories and experiences I have gained here.
