I regret to inform you that after much contemplation and reflection, I have decided to step down from my position as the head coach of the Boston Celtics. This decision has not been an easy one, as my time with the organization has been filled with countless memorable moments and experiences that I will cherish for a lifetime.
I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have served as the head coach of such a storied franchise. The Boston Celtics have a rich history of success and tradition, and it has been an honor to be a part of that legacy. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the ownership group, management, coaching staff, players, and all the dedicated fans who have supported me throughout my tenure.
While this decision was difficult, I believe it is the right one for both myself and the team. Coaching in the NBA is a demanding profession, requiring an incredible amount of time, energy, and dedication. After careful consideration, I have come to the realization that it is time for me to take a step back and prioritize other aspects of my life.
I have the utmost confidence in the Boston Celtics organization and the talented individuals within it. I am confident that they will continue to achieve great success both on and off the court. I will always be a supporter of the Celtics and will be cheering them on from wherever life may take me.
To the players, I want to say thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. It has been a privilege to coach each and every one of you, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together. I have no doubt that you will continue to achieve greatness in the years to come.
To the fans, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Your passion and loyalty are the driving force behind this team, and I am grateful to have been a part of such an incredible community. You are the heart and soul of the Boston Celtics, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to coach in front of you.
As I embark on the next chapter of my journey, I do so with a sense of gratitude and optimism for the future. While I may be stepping away from the sidelines, I will always carry the lessons and memories from my time with the Boston Celtics with me wherever I go.
