Galatasaray to open talks with Manchester United over midfielder

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to acquire 25% of the club imminently but an official announcement has yet to be made after the one-year mark of the Glazers’ announcement of their willingness to sell the club was hit earlier this week.

United did not hold back in the summer window but there were not as many outgoing as some would expect but now, it is being reported that Donny van de Beek could be set for an exit after the turn of the year.

According to Turkish outlet Sporx, Super Lig giants Galatasaray are set to open talks with United over a possible deal for Van de Beek, who has struggled since his 2020 move from Ajax.

Van de Beek has 18 months remaining on his deal at United and the club is unlikely to stand in his way if a suitable offer is made.

With that being said, it’s unlikely that United will price Galatasaray out of a move as Van de Beek is, bluntly put, wasting his time right now.

The story couldn’t be better timed as United are set to make the trip to Turkey next week in their crucial Champions League fixture, with the Reds currently sitting bottom of their group.

United are required to return to Manchester with three points if they have any ambitions of making it through to the knockout phase, with a win over Bayern Munich at Old Trafford also required.
