Man United among clubs to send scouts to watch Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in action
Manchester United have been struggling this season. There’s no escaping from that fact, regardless of how much we all want to believe otherwise.
Erik ten Hag has to hold some of the blame, while his players are not helping him that much presently. It’s no surprise to hear United being linked with every name under the sun as a result, particularly with the January transfer window now on the horizon.
The final third hasn’t looked great. Marcus Rashford is out of form, Antony too. Jadon Sancho is exiled. Anthony Martial just doesn’t look interested. Right now, it’s just Rasmus Hojlund.
90min.com believe Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could be a potential option to help out in that area of the field.
According to their latest information, United were among the sides to send their ‘representatives’ to watch the talented 22-year-old attacker in action during the international break.
United, along with Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle United had scouts in place, as Georgia lost 3-1 to Spain on Sunday.
Although it’s stated that Kvaratskhelia wasn’t the only player gaining traction from scouts, he was the main attraction.
The winger is enjoying another excellent season for Napoli, scoring three goals and assisting four in his 11 Serie A games.
Kvaratskhelia is set for a nice payrise from the Naples club, with the young man in talks over a contract extension. His current deal expires in 2027.
Unsurprisingly, Napoli do not want to part with one of their prized assets, though they may be helpless, given the vast amount of funds available to the top Premier League sides.
I guess the problem for United is that they no longer have the pull they once did. I’d be surprised if they were the dream destination for Kvaratskhelia at this stage of his career. He’s also a left-winger predominantly, what could that mean for Marcus Rashford going forward?
