SO SAD: 2 wolves Kay play will not be able to play the rest of the season due to international injury “wolves revived”
Chelsea can take a big step towards securing their place in the Premier League top four if they are able to overcome Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday
Nelson Semedo, a wing-back for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has revealed that an injury will keep him out of this weekend’s match against Chelsea as well as the rest of the campaign. After missing five Premier League games due to a hamstring injury, the Portugal international has just recently made a comeback.
Semedo, who paid about £27.5 million to join Wolves from Barcelona in the summer of 2020, has been a mainstay for Bruno Lage this season. The 28-year-old has made 29 appearances in all competitions, but in December’s 0-0 draw at Molineux against Chelsea, he was not used as a substitute.
The defender, who played in Wolves’ last two games against Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion after recovering from a hamstring injury, has announced on Instagram that he will miss the rest of the season. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to play this season anymore,” Semedo wrote. All I have to do is help the team win the games that are left and concentrate on getting better. Until next season, bye.
Semedo is the second Wolves player to have suffered a season-ending injury in the past week. It was confirmed last Thursday that Max Kilman, who has been watched by Chelsea this season and whose brother is in the Blues’ academy, will be absent for their remaining fixtures.
“Max twisted his ankle, and it will be hard for him to return,’ said Lage. ‘He will recover, but there is less than a month until the end of the season. We need to understand what the problem is and the doctors are doing a fantastic job.”
