Wolves player ratings vs Luton as ten men battle for a point

Report and player ratings from Wolves Premier League game at Luton Town

Wolves earned their point at newly promoted Luton Town with a 1-1 draw, and they certainly had to work for it.

In the first half, Gary O’Neil’s team had to stave off a Luton onslaught. However, just when it looked like they had overcome it, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was dismissed for kicking Tom Lockyer.

The exuberant home crowd was temporarily quieted by Pedro Neto’s superb individual strike five minutes into the second half, but Carlton Morris equalized from the penalty spot on the 65th minute after Joao Gomes was given a handball penalty.

O’Neil kept the same side that started last week’s 3-1 defeat at home to Liverpool, but saw them under pressure from the start as Luton looked for their first points since promotion.

Their efforts came closest to yielding a goal before the break on 11 minutes when Craig Dawson’s clearing header rebounded to Carlton Morris who checked inside and bent a 20-yard effort past Jose Sa but against the post.

Alfie Doughty cut the ball back to Jacob Brown 15 yards out only for Max Kilman to throw himself in the way to block the shot. However, Luton pressure continued as Brown met Doughty’s free kick but sent a difficult header over from around 14 yards.
